Volleyball Recap: Texas School for the Deaf Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Texas School for the Deaf, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons by a score of 2-0 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won three in a row.

Texas School for the Deaf easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16.

Melanie Rubinshteyn paced Texas School for the Deaf's offense, picking up 12 kills. Rubinshteyn got some help from Kaelyn Sluyter-Coffey and her 19 assists. Malinda Shayman controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Texas School for the Deaf's victory bumped their record up to 14-15-1. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.
