Basketball Game Recap: Wellston Golden Rockets vs. Symmes Valley Vikings

The Wellston Golden Rockets had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 49-48 victory over Symmes Valley. The victory was just what Wellston needed coming off of a 70-47 loss in their prior matchup.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Cade, who scored six points along with ten rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aydan Taylor, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.

Wellston's victory bumped their record up to 4-13. As for Symmes Valley, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellston will take on the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Waterford is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Symmes Valley, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Mohawks at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Northwest will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
