Santa Clara barely beat Fremont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bruins put the hurt on the Firebirds with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bruins.

Santa Clara not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Fremont between 14 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 25-16.

Naomi Hunt paced Santa Clara's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hunt got some help from Linnea Martin and her 16 assists. Martin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

Santa Clara's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Fremont, they dropped their record down to 6-14 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Santa Clara didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Wilcox on the 8th. As for Fremont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Saratoga on the 8th.
