Basketball Recap: Newport Wildcats vs. Campbell County Camels
Newport lost against Campbell County back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Newport Wildcats fell to the Campbell County Camels 56-52. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Newport saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Griffin Starks went 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Starks has scored all season. Amontae Lowe was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Newport's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Campbell County, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newport and Bryan Station will compete for holiday cheer at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bryan Station knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Newport likes a good challenge. Campbell County will take on Pendleton County in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
