Basketball Recap: Pahrump Valley Victorious

Pahrump Valley's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons, sneaking past 46-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since January 12, 2024.

Tramaine Burras was the offensive standout of the game as he dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2024. Jack Toth was another key player, putting up seven points and six boards.

Pahrump Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Doral Academy Red Rock lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Paris Brown, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Brennan Cuello, who had eight points.

Pahrump Valley's victory bumped their record up to 6-18. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-14.

Pahrump Valley has already played their next matchup (against Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Doral Academy Red Rock wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-36 loss against The Meadows School on the 4th.
