Baseball Game Preview: McNairy Central Bobcats vs. Chester County Eagles

For the second straight game, McNairy Central will face off against Chester County. The Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (McNairy Central 3.8, Chester County 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

McNairy Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Chester County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Bobcats have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Case Stone put in work no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed over his last three games. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Stone wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tucker McMahan, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Chester County is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for McNairy Central, their loss dropped their record down to 15-10.
