Washington had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Galesburg Silver Streaks with a sharp 17-1 win. Considering the Panthers have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Washington's victory bumped their record up to 23-2. As for Galesburg, they are on a 33-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-28.

Washington wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-5 win against Illini Bluffs on the 10th. As for Galesburg, they have also already played their next game, a 23-2 loss against Rochester on the 10th.
