Baseball Recap: La Habra Has No Trouble Against Woodrow Wilson

La Habra had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on the Woodrow Wilson Bruins with a sharp 9-2 win. The Highlanders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bruins, too.

Andrew Amaya looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he also posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, La Habra let Bobby Fierro and Max Garcia loose on the outfield. Fierro scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Garcia scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, Fierro also posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Angel Acuna, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

La Habra was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodrow Wilson only posted a batting average of .174.

Looking ahead, La Habra will challenge Capistrano Valley Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodrow Wilson, they will take on El Modena at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
