Recap: East Webster Wolverines vs. Starkville Academy Volunteers
The East Webster Wolverines's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Starkville Academy. East Webster has struggled against Starkville Academy recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Starkville Academy found their leader in underclassman Raylee Jones, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
East Webster bumped their record down to 11-7 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Starkville Academy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Webster has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Eupora at 6:00 p.m. on January 2nd. Eupora will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 215th, while East Webster is ranked 101st). As for Starkville Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bayou Academy at 6:00 p.m.
