Basketball Recap: Mitchell County Eagles vs. Randolph-Clay Red Devils
If Mitchell County was riding high fresh off their 56-30 takedown of Miller County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mitchell County Eagles came up short against the Randolph-Clay Red Devils on Wednesday, falling 60-35. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Red Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Randolph-Clay's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Akia Seymore led the charge by putting up 18 points. Ta'Kyrah Jones was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds.
Mitchell County's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Randolph-Clay, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-6.
