Recap: Golden West Trailblazers vs. Kerman Lions

The Golden West Trailblazers were the 51-30 winner over the Kerman Lions when they last played one another back in November of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. Golden West was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 30-29 to Kerman.

Several Trailblazers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jayden Najera, who rushed for 35 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 58 yards and a touchdown on only three passes. Chris Garcia was another key contributor, picking up 108 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Kerman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adam Delgado, who picked up 110 receiving yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Torres, who threw for 155 yards and a touchdown.

Golden West's loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 3-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-2 Kingsburg and 9-2 Arroyo Grande (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 62.3% over those games). As for Kerman, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-5.

Golden West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kerman will head out on the road to face off against Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Kennedy is ranked 299th, while Kerman is ranked 306th).
