Soccer Game Preview: Virginia High vs. Marion

Virginia High is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Marion a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Virginia High Bearcats will look to defend their home pitch against the Marion Scarlet Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m.

Virginia High came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Graham, falling 4-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Virginia High haven't been shut out since back in March.

Meanwhile, Marion had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their defense stepped up to hand Richlands a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday. Marion's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last six games.

Virginia High's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Marion, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-6.

Virginia High was able to grind out a solid win over Marion in their previous meeting two weeks ago, winning 3-1. Will the Bearcats repeat their success, or do the Scarlet Hurricanes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
