Football Recap: Providence Hall Skates Past Grand County with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Providence Hall). They claimed a resounding 58-0 win over the Grand County Red Devils. The high-scoring effort was just what the Patriots needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Providence Hall's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrew Taylor led the charge by throwing for 273 yards and six touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryker Rindlisbacher, who picked up 181 receiving yards and three TDs.

Providence Hall's run defense was locked in: Grand County could only muster 1.5 yards per carry. While six picked up at least one total tackle, Rindlisbacher stood above the rest. He picked up 181 receiving yards and three scores. Providence Hall didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.6.

Providence Hall's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Grand County, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Hall will challenge Judge Memorial Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Patriots their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Grand County, they will face off against South Sevier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matches.
