Baseball Recap: Mater Academy Charter Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

It was a proper cat-fight when Mater Academy Charter faced off against Pembroke Pines Charter on Friday. The Mater Academy Charter Lions won by a run and slipped past the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars 5-4. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Jaguars, too.

Gerald Barcelo looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.
