Volleyball Recap: Greenwich Comes Up Short

Greenwich lost against Warde/Ludlowe back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cardinals fell just short of Warde/Ludlowe by a score of 3-2.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Greenwich sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 17-25, 25-21, 17-25, 16-14.

Despite the loss, Greenwich still got an impressive performance from Keito Fukushima, who had 18 digs and three assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Lazo, who had 14 assists and four digs.

Greenwich dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Warde/Ludlowe, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.

Coming up, Greenwich will venture away from home to square off against McMahon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals are facing the Senators at the right time seeing as the Senators are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Warde/Ludlowe, they will square off against Westhill at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
