 With a playoff game on the line, the Waverly Wolverines rose to the challenge  on Saturday. They took down the Blue Devils 65-48. The  win was familiar territory for Waverly who now have nine in a row.
 When it comes to explaining why Chenango Forks lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Stephen Samsel. Despite the final result, he  scored 24 points along with six  rebounds. Samsel hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of  Drew Warpus, who  scored six points.
 Chenango Forks  struggled to get the ball back on offense and  finished the game with only four  offensive rebounds. That's the fewest  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 Waverly pushed their record up to 16-3 with that  win, which was their sixth straight  at home. Those good results were due in large part to their  offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Chenango Forks, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.
 Waverly will look to defend their home court  on Wednesday against Dryden at 6:00  p.m. Waverly knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 games -- so hopefully Dryden likes a good challenge. Chenango Forks does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
