Softball Recap: Madison Southern Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Harrison County, Madison Southern was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Rockcastle County Rockets. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Lexie Keener was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Taylor Reeves was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Keener wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Madison Southern lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockcastle County didn't launched any home runs.

Madison Southern's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Rockcastle County, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Madison Southern will be playing in front of their home fans against Jackson County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Jackson County will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Madison Southern surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rockcastle County, they will head out to take on Bourbon County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
