Volleyball Recap: Meeker Cowboys vs. Sanford Mustangs
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Meeker can now relate to. They fell just short of the Sanford Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2021.
Meeker actually scored more points across those five sets (106-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-17, 15-25, 13-25, 20-18.
Reese Clatterbaugh paced Meeker's offense, picking up 13 kills. Clatterbaugh got some help from
Jacey Follman and her 24 assists. Finally,
Adison Selle kept Meeker's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.
Meeker's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-6. As for Sanford, they pushed their record up to 16-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
