Even though the Montpelier Locomotives have not done well against the Hicksville Aces recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Montpelier snuck past Hicksville with a 47-43 victory. This was payback for Montpelier, who suffered a 58-47 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Hicksville saw an underclassman step up: Garrett Turnbull scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxztyn Heisler, who scored 7 points.

The victory got Montpelier back to even at 1-1. As for Hicksville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
