Trishay Collins and Kendra Jean secure win for Heritage

Recap: Heritage Panthers vs. Okeechobee Brahmans

The Heritage Panthers proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 37) but on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 victory over Okeechobee. Winning may never get old, but Heritage sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.

Leading Heritage to victory were Trishay Collins and Kendra Jean. Collins almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 16 rebounds, while Jean scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jean has scored all season. Another player making a difference was emilee gier, who scored seven points.

Heritage's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Okeechobee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Heritage is on the road again on Wednesday and plays Sebastian River at 5:00 p.m. on February 7th. Sebastian River's defense has only allowed 27.2 points per game this season, so Heritage's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Okeechobee, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Rockledge at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Rockledge is ranked 418th, while Okeechobee is ranked 403rd).
