Football Game Preview: Seneca Fighting Irish vs. St. Bede Bruins

The Seneca Fighting Irish will face off against the St. Bede Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Seneca's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

On Friday, Seneca strolled past Marquette with points to spare, taking the game 43-26. The win continues a trend for the Fighting Irish in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 48-14, which was the final score in St. Bede's tilt against Dwight on Saturday. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Seneca will have to keep a close watch on Carson Riva and Gino Ferrari, a pair of players who had a big impact on St. Bede's prior game. Riva rushed for 19 yards and a pair of TDs, while Ferrari rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown. Riva also put up two rushing touchdowns, which were his first of the season.

Seneca's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for St. Bede, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything went Seneca's way against St. Bede in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as Seneca made off with a 36-12 win. Will the Fighting Irish repeat their success, or do the Bruins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
