Preview: Pettus Eagles vs. Nordheim Pirates
Pettus is 2-8 against Nordheim since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Pettus Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Nordheim Pirates at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pettus has three straight victories, Nordheim has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Pettus beat Prairie Lea 63-51.
Pettus found their leader in underclassman Ramon Reyna, who scored 25 points. Reyna has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Matt Hernandez, who scored 15 points.
Nordheim suffered their biggest loss yet this season back in December of 2023. They had to suffer through a rough 94-54 loss at the hands of Taft.
Pettus' win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Nordheim, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-9.
Pettus was dealt a bruising 51-19 defeat at the hands of Nordheim in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Pettus avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
