Baseball Recap: Overbrook Comes Up Short

Overbrook had lost four straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-6 to make it five. They fell just short of the Kingsway Dragons by a score of 6-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rams of the 10-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

As for Kingsway, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games.

For Kingsway's part, AJ Aimis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. Aimis has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brayden Thorp, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kyle Shields, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Coming up, Overbrook will head out on the road to square off against Salem at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kingsway, they will be playing at home against Burlington Township at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
