Softball Recap: Haven Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

There's no place like home for Haven, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against the Larned Indians on Thursday as they made off with a 17-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won nine in a row.

Avery Brawner was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Brawner was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Sophia Faidley was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Ella Bontrager, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Haven was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .615. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Haven pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13 runs. As for Larned, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Haven beat the Indians by a score of 15-5 later that day.
