Football Recap: Wayne County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Wayne County was the 29-13 winner over McEwen when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats took a 22-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Friday.

Despite the defeat, Wayne County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avery Vaughn rushed for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Wayne County's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for McEwen, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Coming up, Wayne County will square off against Perry County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McEwen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dresden on Friday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
