Recap: Bishop O'Dowd Dragons vs. St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots

The Bishop O'Dowd Dragons won the last time they faced the St. Joseph Notre Dame Pilots, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Bishop O'Dowd walked away with a 62-52 win over St. Joseph Notre Dame. Given Bishop O'Dowd's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while St. Joseph Notre Dame is ranked 312th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bishop O'Dowd got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joshua Green out in front who scored 17 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Green has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Leo Chapman, who scored 17 points along with three steals.

Bishop O'Dowd has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for St. Joseph Notre Dame, they now have a losing record at 12-13.

Bishop O'Dowd will be playing in front of their home fans against San Leandro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Bishop O'Dowd's favor as the squad sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while San Leandro has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for St. Joseph Notre Dame, they will take on Alameda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
