Basketball Recap: Wortham Takes a Loss

Wortham lost against Dawson back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wortham Bulldogs were beaten by the Dawson Bulldogs 45-4. The contest marked Wortham's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Dawson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joselynn Wilson, who posted nine points along with six steals and five boards. Malaina Bryan was another key player, putting up nine points and eight steals.

Wortham is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11. As for Dawson, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 5-6.

Wortham wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-12 loss against Frost on the 10th. As for Dawson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 36-2 victory against Hubbard on the 10th.
