Recap: Santa Anna Mountaineers vs. Menard Yellowjackets

The Santa Anna Mountaineers waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They slipped by Menard 42-41. For Santa Anna, this counts as revenge for the 46-40 loss Menard walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.

Jacob Jimenez was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Santa Anna's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devan Ray, who scored eight points along with seven steals and six assists.

Santa Anna has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Menard, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Santa Anna will be playing at home against Eden at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Menard, they will head out on the road to challenge Paint Rock at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Paint Rock comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
