Basketball Recap: Thompson Tommies vs. Central Cass Squirrels
After losing to Central Cass the last time they met, Thompson decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Thompson Tommies had just enough and edged the Central Cass Squirrels out 58-56. Given the Tommies' advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Squirrels are ranked 69th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Thompson had a senior duo take command as Karter Peterson almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds and Gavin Krogstad dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Odenbach, who posted eight points and 12 boards.
Thompson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since the start of last season.
