Volleyball Recap: Southington Has No Trouble Against CREC [Civic Leaderdship/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering/Metropolitan Learning Center]

Southington's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the CREC [Civic Leaderdship/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering/Metropolitan Learning Center] Colts 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Blue Knights in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won three in a row.

While Southington won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-17, 25-23.

James Percival paced Southington's offense, picking up seven kills. Percival got some help from Dalton Messina and his 17 assists. Jeremy Parent controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Southington's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for CREC [Civic Leaderdship/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering/Metropolitan Learning Center], they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southington will venture away from home to challenge Newington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Nor'easters will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Blue Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
