Basketball Recap: St. Albans Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact St. Albans can now relate to. They were dealt an 86-55 defeat at the hands of the St. John's Cadets on Wednesday.

When it comes to explaining why St. Albans lost, don't look at Grant Polk. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-17 to rack up 25 points and six boards. Polk's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 24 points. Another player making a difference was William Strong, who posted ten points.

St. Albans has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. St. John's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-10.

St. Albans does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. John's, they will square off against Sidwell Friends at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Sidwell Friends will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something St. John's surely won't give up without a fight.
