Softball Recap: Sheboygan South Takes a Loss

Sheboygan South extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 46 on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 0-25 in the process. They came up short against the Grafton Black Hawks, falling 16-1. The Redwings were not able to make up for their loss to the Black Hawks from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Sheboygan South saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Mendez, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Aurea Mt Pleasant also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

As for Grafton, they moved to 9-13 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by ten runs or more this season.

On Grafton's side, Anna Holzer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Holzer was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Riley Bergmann, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Eernisse, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple.

As of now, neither Sheboygan South nor Grafton have any future games scheduled.
