Basketball Game Preview: Spirit HomeSchool Warhawks vs. Providence Athletic Club Panthers

The Spirit HomeSchool Warhawks and the Providence Athletic Club Panthers will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest, having both just played. Providence Athletic Club took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Spirit HomeSchool, who comes in off a win.

Spirit HomeSchool is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Christian Educational Consortium 59-30 on Tuesday. The Warhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Providence Athletic Club duked it out with South Guilford HomeSchool on Tuesday. Providence Athletic Club was beaten by South Guilford HomeSchool 89-49. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 205th in South Carolina, while the Cougars are ranked 95th in North Carolina).

Spirit HomeSchool has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points on average over those games. Providence Athletic Club has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Spirit HomeSchool couldn't quite finish off Providence Athletic Club in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 and fell 37-34. Can Spirit HomeSchool avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
