Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valley). They managed a 70-64 victory over the Ganado Hornets on Tuesday. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayquan Allen, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jake Apachee, who posted 19 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Ganado, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Valley will take on Fort Thomas in a tournament on Thursday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Apaches have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. Ganado will take on Alchesay in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
