Basketball Recap: Horizon Drops Highest Score of Season Against Orlando Christian Prep

Horizon scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Orlando Christian Prep Warriors. The loss leaves the Hawks without a win on the season.

Despite the defeat, Horizon saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Diego Rojas went 8 of 13 en route to 24 points. The contest was Rojas' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bradley Webb, who posted 11 points.

Even though they lost, Horizon was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Orlando Christian Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Theus, who went 6 of 14 en route to 15 points along with seven assists and five boards. Theus has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Thomas, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 18 points.

Horizon's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Orlando Christian Prep, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Horizon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-50 defeat against Lake Minneola on the 16th. As for Orlando Christian Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-53 loss against Oviedo on the 14th.
