Basketball Recap: Wellington-Napoleon Finds Playoff Glory Versus Braymer

With a playoff win on the line, Wellington-Napoleon rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Braymer Bobcats with a sharp 34-13 win. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wellington-Napoleon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaylin Ellensohn, who went 5-for-9 en route to 10 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Ellensohn has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brilynn Zykan, who put up seven points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Wellington-Napoleon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Wellington-Napoleon's win bumped their record up to 6-20. As for Braymer, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Wellington-Napoleon will challenge Hardin-Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Braymer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
