Volleyball Recap: Masuk Panthers vs. Immaculate Mustangs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Trumbull, Masuk was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Immaculate Mustangs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.
Masuk had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-21.
Casey Frangus was the offensive standout of the match as she had 11 digs.
Masuk's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-2. As for Immaculate, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
Masuk's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Newtown at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Newtown is coming into the contest with three straight victories on the road, so Masuk will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
