Baseball Recap: Middle Creek Wins Going Away Against Knightdale

Middle Creek had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Knightdale on Wednesday. The Middle Creek Mustangs blew past the Knightdale Knights 9-2.

Leo Lupienski was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Lupienski was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other pitching news, Ben Cather looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

Back at the plate, Brady Pierson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.

Middle Creek hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knightdale struck out 11 times.

Middle Creek's record now sits at 2-0. As for Knightdale, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middle Creek will face off against Overhills at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Knightdale, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Southeast Raleigh at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
