Baseball Preview: Limon Badgers vs. Yuma        
        
		
            
 The Limon Badgers are on the road again  on Thursday to play Yuma at 2:00  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Limon scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Tuesday. They never let Colorado Springs Christian onto the board and left with  a   17-0  victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest  win of the season.
  Jordan Rockwell and  Cale Bennett were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Rockwell   pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (he also didn't allow any  walks). Meanwhile,  Bennett   tossed  an inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (he also didn't allow any  walks). At bat,  Rockwell  went 3-for-3 with a  home run, six  RBI,  and three  runs, while  Bennett  scored two  runs and  stole four bases while going 1-for-3. Rockwell has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last five times he's  played.
 In other batting news,  Trey Smith was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.  Aiden Kollath was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Yuma entered their tilt with Sedgwick County with four consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Cougars 20-10. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
 Like Limon, Yuma also got a great game from a two-way player:  Angel Escobar. On the mound, he  pitched 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned run or  hits. Escobar was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Christian Thomson was  incredible,  scoring five  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Marvin Duarte, who  went 1-for-4 with four  RBI, a  run,  and a  double.
 Limon pushed their record up to 10-0 with that  victory, which was their fifth straight  on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.8 runs per game. As for Yuma, their record is now 5-1.
 Limon took their  win against Yuma  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023 by a conclusive  13-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Limon since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
