North Salem couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the South Salem Saxons on Saturday, falling 28-6. The contest was a close 7-6 at the break, but unfortunately for the Vikings it sure didn't stay that way.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Salem to victory, but perhaps none more so than Benjamin Hennan, who threw for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Kellen Bowman also helped out by tossing the rock for 251 yards.

North Salem will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against South Medford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Salem, they will face off against Tualatin on Friday. Hopefully South Salem focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Saturday.
