Baseball Recap: Scotts Valley Takes a Loss

Scotts Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Carmel on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They lost 10-4 to the Carmel Padres. The Falcons have struggled against the Padres recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meetings.

Kit Deforest was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lukas Bloom, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Scotts Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Carmel, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scotts Valley will take on Watsonville at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Carmel, they will host Aptos at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
