Basketball Recap: Harrison Comes Up Short

If Harrison was riding high fresh off their 78-46 takedown of Twin Lakes last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Harrison Raiders took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warsaw Tigers on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 67-65 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Harrison lost, don't look at Reid Smith. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-11 en route to 19 points and six assists. The dominant performance gave Smith a new career-high in assists. Ray Gibson was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points.

Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Warsaw, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Harrison will be playing at home against Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harrison is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.1 points per game this season. As for Warsaw, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-53 win against Hammond Morton on the 22nd.
