Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lafayette). They never let the West Point Green Wave onto the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. Given the Commodores' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Green Wave are ranked 141st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lafayette is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five matches. As for West Point, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette and Hancock will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Point, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Houston at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
