Recap: Hardaway Hawks vs. Russell County Warriors
In what's become a running theme this season, the Hardaway Hawks gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 73-26 win over Russell County on the road. Hardaway is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 13 straight.
Hardaway's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mikayla Johnson led the charge by scoring 16 points along with four steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of La?niya Meeks, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Hardaway pushed their record up to 16-4 with that victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Russell County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
Hardaway will be playing at home against Cairo at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Cairo has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29. As for Russell County, they will head out on the road to take on Eufaula at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
