Preview: Watersprings vs. Rockland Bulldogs
Watersprings has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Rockland Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Watersprings focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Watersprings suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 39-18 loss at the hands of Grace Lutheran. Watersprings has not had much luck with Grace Lutheran recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Kaitlyn Syverson was Watersprings' leading scorer, having posted ten points. Syverson also led the team in rebounds with eight.
Libby Grijalva took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.
Rockland posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Clark County 2-0. The win was just what Rockland needed coming off of a 56-28 defeat in their prior matchup.
Watersprings bumped their record down to 6-10 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.0 points per game. As for Rockland, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Watersprings was taken down by Rockland 51-16 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Watersprings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
