Soccer Game Preview: San Marin vs. Piner

The San Marin Mustangs will take on the Piner Prospectors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

San Marin is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Acalanes on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Dons. The loss was the Mustangs' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Piner fell victim to California and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Grizzlies, falling 3-0. The loss was the Prospectors' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, San Marin fell to 2-1. As for Piner, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.

San Marin was able to grind out a solid victory over Piner when the teams last played back in December of 2017, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Marin since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
