Basketball Recap: Pickering Comes Up Short

Pickering lost against Hicks last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pickering Red Devils took a 65-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hicks Pirates. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (55), the Red Devils still had to take the loss.

Pickering has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Hicks, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pickering will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Grand Lake on December 30th. Hicks will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Alexandria at 6:30 p.m. on December 31st.
