Baseball Recap: Northwest Has No Trouble Against Lagrange

Northwest won the last time they faced LaGrange and things went their way on Monday too. Everything went the Northwest Raiders' way against the LaGrange Gators as the Northwest Raiders made off with a 14-3 victory. Considering the Raiders' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Northwest got a massive performance out of Dreamon Haywood, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Haywood a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Berard, who went a perfect2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

The win got Northwest back to even at 3-3. As for LaGrange, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest will head out to take on Livonia at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season. As for LaGrange, they will take on Oakdale at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oakdale will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something LaGrange surely won't give up without a fight.
