Lanier is 1-8 against Provine since August of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Lanier is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Lanier is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Murrah 44-0 on Friday. Considering the Bulldogs have won five matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lanier found their leader in sophomore Knolyn Bailey, who rushed for 160 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Bailey is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 110 every time he's taken the field this season.
Lanier was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 278 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 209 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Lanier's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Zycameron Williams: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Provine beat Forest Hill 21-14 on Thursday. The Rams pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.
Lanier better keep an eye on JAYDEN THURMAN. He was instrumental in Provine's win, rushing for 105 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 57 yards and one TD. THURMAN showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 53 yards.
Provine's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Lanier, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Lanier has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 286.8 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Provine, though, as they've been averaging only 31.5 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Lanier beat Provine 16-6 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
