Softball Recap: Mckinley Drops Season-High Score on Western Reserve

There's no place like home for McKinley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past the Western Reserve Blue Devils 11-10. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Bella Threet was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Coen, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

McKinley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive contests.

McKinley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Western Reserve, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

McKinley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Devils: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
